On October 17, 2025, a meeting of the Regional Scientific Society of Otorhinolaryngologists and Audiologists was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk. During the event, specialists discussed current issues in the diagnosis and treatment of ENT diseases and hearing disorders. Particular attention was given to a unique clinical case of alpha-mannosidosis, diagnosed for the first time in Kazakhstan. This rare hereditary disease is associated with hearing loss and neurological impairment. Participants emphasized the importance of early detection of rare pathologies, improving diagnostic methods, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration among medical professionals. The society’s work is aimed at enhancing the quality of specialized medical care for patients in the region.
